Just a sketch of my favorite dog breed. Hoping beyond hope to have a special pup soon join our family. Motivated, got it done in a little more than a day. Not as detailed or as accurate as I'd like, but a fun little sketch.

Update: Accidentally destroyed by my child and unrepairable. Oh, well. Things happen.

It was once told in Symmyrnea... That whoever would talk to pine barks in the forest, write the mystery on the sea with ancient woods and take those faces to the isolated rocks on an island, would find the road to OEGGEM. And...(the end is the beginning)

He is fantastic! You know what he reminds me of my Giant Schnauzers! I loved them!
How big do these guys get?
:iconcermaith:
I love those too! These are a very similar breed, even have some Giant Schnauzer in their bloodline. They were created in Russia to be reliable police and military dogs. They are not as spastic as Giant Schnauzers but they have a lot more willingness to please than Bouviers. They get up to 30" tall and 140 pounds for males. I REALLY want one. Or two. Or more...

Great work especially in that short time period! You're very talented. :winner: The back leg looks a little wonky to me, though. A life sized bust would be a treat to see.:)

Do NOT buy prints from DA. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!
:iconpatteee:
I went and googled them. The are so much like my giants! And I did see they have them in the bloodline. Along with Airdel's and Rotweilers... (true?) Spastic Giant Schnauzers LOL! In that I hope you mean temperament. I loved my Giants, I've had 3. But they do have an aloofness, like they said the Russian Terriers do also. GREAT GREAT protecion dogs... my only trouble with my Schnauzers were they could be way too protective and if not totally!!!! socialized oh boy....

We had one Walker, that put his jaws around a young friend of my sons because he was playing on the floor close to his food bowl. He didn't bite down but I can tell you I thought I was going to s**t! Still I'd like to have another someday or maybe this breed!
:icondarkmask:
Great! His fur is very impressive!
:iconcermaith:
Yep, Airedales and Rotties. By spastic I meant personality-wise. I have heard (but not experienced firsthand) that they are extremely intelligent and energetic, and if you don't have something for them to do when they're in the mood to do something, they'll invent things to do, like tear apart a couch.... The BRTs are supposed to be more mild-mannered, but still eager to please. More likely to lay down inside and wait for you (but follow you everywhere) than to go looking for things to do on their own, but still, yes, protective. And yes, that goes hand in hand with aloofness! It's necessary for a dog to have a certain faculty for discrimination in order to be a good protector!
That sounds scary! Food aggression is one of the hardest to overcome in my experience, but it sounds like he was assuming the role of a father dog and gently redirecting the "pup" instead of outright aggression!
If I can get this pup that I have my eyes on I will let you know what they are like in person!

What did you make this with? It's really nice.

It's like you're making fun of my shirt. Seriously. What's wrong with my shirt.
